So, here we are, months later, at Children's having the backing removed. I have had a lot of anxiety about it the last couple weeks and today was traumatizing and scary for her. I took my youngest's backings out immediately once I figured out what happened and they were both embedded in the back of her lobes and I could barely grasp them with my fingernails. Lesson learned. Hopefully someone else will learn from my mistake because emotionally, physically, and about $3000 later, this was not fun.

One day, in June, we couldn't find the clear backing. We assumed it fell off. She said her ear hurt, but I thought it was because she was allergic to the metal of the turtle earring. It was a couple weeks later that I had a feeling that the clear backing was in her earlobe. I took her to the doctor twice before anyone believed me.
