To Lowe's: we were counting on you, the installation being done correctly and on time will determine if i can move into my new home. Where is the accountability? If your employees cannot follow procedures they shouldn't be behind the installation desk. At least the management is there to help customers. I will be in-store soon, at least to talk to the store manager and let him know how well Hannah does her job and to thank Jay for trying to fix a problem caused by lack of care, customer service, and accountability.

This Lowe's location in Alton, IL is typical for this home improvement oriented chain. It is located on the Homer Adams Parkway which is a business corridor filled with hotels, restaurants, a mall, grocery stores, and various retail stores.

*today we went into the store to get a new receipt and contract because if anything goes wrong we'd need it to hold lowes accountable. Not to mention our warranty and energy rebate have to go to the correct water heater, not one we almost had installed. Hannah is there and throws around an attitude and continues to refuse to do her job correctly. Wouldnt print new contract, gave us a partial receipt.

*fast forward to a full 24 hours later and someone else calls to confirm an appointment for monday. Now we have to spend a weekend without hot water.

My only gripe is that occasionally there's not enough check out stations open.

Rest assured, when visiting this Lowe's you'll experience the company standard.

*get to lowes same day, ask for a manager, they try telling me i dont need to see the manager. Wrong answer. Jay, who came after asking two more employees was nice, helped us out, and was understanding. Management there was amazing. He says hes gunna call us back with new appointment time, we leave and several hours later Hannah calls, tells me there is still no appointment time, tells me everything Jay already told me. Hannah says she'll call back asap when appointment is booked.

*guy comes out, looks around for 15 minutes; says they sold us the wrong water heater. Asks us "didnt they ask you about this?" Tell me "theres a 45$ service charge, i dont know if youre gunna pay it or if lowes will eat the cost..."

Went to buy deck lumber ,I only needed 10 pc. 10 ft.length 5/4 x 6in. only 15 pc on display , only 4 pcs worth considering went across the belt line to home depot bought 10 pcs with out sorting ..not the first time this happen

The lay out will be familiar to anyone who has ever stepped into a Lowe's. Plants and Garden supplies on one end, lumber on the other, and everything else in between.

*the installer calls me the day before, i tell him our appointment is on Thursday not Wednesday. He says hes gotta check his schedule if he can do it

I prefer this Lowe's to the nearby Home Depot. I feel the overall experience, quality of items, and feel of the place is superior.

After that the ammount of incompetence dumbfounded me.

Easy to find and with plenty of parking makes this Lowe's a breeze to get in and out of.

Dont trust lowes with projects and installation. Hannah at the front desk was kind enough to help us purchase materials and set up installation appointment. She guaranteed if additional materials were required due to store negligence the cost would be covered; she gave us our time and date and the company whod be installing our hot water heater.

Store seemed clean and had exactly what we wanted, but no one was willing to help. Atter hearing 2 different couples say they were standing there for 10 minutes (the intercom kept calling staff to that area) we decided to help ourselves. Every poor aervice, wont go back to that one.

The store is bright, organized, and well stocked. There are many employees "on the floor" to help you find what you need. Every single time I have asked for help, the are courteous and have went out of their way to make sure my items are found and questions answered.

We purchased a refrigerator from there and two days later, the refrigerator was delivered and installed. So a few months later we ended up having to purchase a microwave. Mary, who works sales in appliance is excellent, however, it took installation almost two weeks to deliver and install. Now, two months later, that same microwave has stopped working and the repair people tells us it's going to be another entire week before they can come out and look at it. Very disappointed with the timing issue. The microwave is only two months old with normal use. It needs to be replaced, not looked at. Will not buy appliances there anymore.
